Privacy Policy

Effective August 5, 2026 · Applies to app.jobshutter.com and the JobShutter capture app

Controller: JobShutter LLC (Ohio) / Jordan Peplinski d/b/a JobShutter. Contact: [email protected].

This policy explains how we handle information when you use JobShutter. It applies to free design-partner pilots and paid use. We may update this policy; material changes will be posted with a new effective date.

1. Who this is for

JobShutter is a business tool for contractors and field teams (photos, projects, reports, maps). It is not directed at children under 13. If your company invites you, your company admin controls your account and may see your activity in their workspace.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

  • Name, username, email, firm/company name
  • Password (stored hashed; we cannot read it)
  • Role (admin/member), preferred map market
  • Session tokens / device login metadata

2.2 Customer / job content you upload (“Customer Data”)

  • Project names, addresses, map pins, notes
  • Photos, videos, captions, labels, reports, share links
  • Optional geolocation and device metadata embedded in photos

Your company owns this content. We process it to provide the service.

2.3 Usage and technical data

  • Log data (IP, browser/app version, pages, error traces)
  • Feature usage needed to operate and secure the product

2.4 Communications

Emails or texts you send us for support or feedback.

2.5 Payments (when enabled later)

If you buy a paid plan, payment processors (e.g., Stripe) process card/bank details. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Not required for free pilots.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and secure JobShutter
  • Create company workspaces and enforce data isolation between companies
  • Authenticate users and prevent abuse
  • Improve reliability and features (aggregated or de-identified signals where practical)
  • Respond to support and pilot feedback
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms

We do not: sell your Customer Data or client lists; use your clients’ identities to run a competing landscaping (or other trade) business; give other JobShutter customers access to your workspace.

4. Company silos (multi-tenant)

Each company has a separate org. Users only access data for their company (except platform operators fixing security or legal issues, under strict need-to-know).

5. Sharing

We share information only with infrastructure providers (hosting, storage, email, maps) under contracts requiring protection of data; your company admins; professional advisors or authorities if required by law; or a buyer of JobShutter’s business with notice where required. We do not sell personal information.

6. Retention

  • Account data: while the account is active
  • Customer Data: while the company workspace is active, plus a short period after export/termination for backups
  • Logs: limited period for security and debugging
  • Pilot workspaces: may be deleted after pilot end + export window if no paid plan continues

7. Security

We use industry-reasonable measures (encrypted transport, hashed passwords, access controls, backups). No method is 100% secure. Report issues to [email protected].

8. Your choices

  • Access/update profile via the app (or ask us)
  • Request export of Customer Data (company admin)
  • Request deletion of your user account
  • Stop using the service and ask for workspace deletion after export

9. International

Servers are currently in the United States. If you access from elsewhere, you consent to US processing.

10. Changes

We will post updates at this URL. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy, except where consent is required by law.
